How it works
- 1Open a PDF from your device, or continue with a document you already have open.
- 2Use the toolbar to annotate, highlight, add text, draw shapes or place a signature.
- 3Reorder, rotate, duplicate or delete pages from the sidebar and thumbnails.
- 4Export when you are done, choosing which pages to write and whether to flatten markup.
What this does to your file
The editor keeps one working document in memory for the whole session. Edits are applied to that document, so switching to another tool carries your changes with you instead of starting again from the original file.
Common questions
Is my file uploaded to a server?
- No. The page loads a PDF engine into your browser and the document is read from disk by that engine. There is no upload endpoint, and once the page has loaded you can disconnect from the network and the tool still works.
Are my annotations permanent in the exported file?
- That is your choice at export. Flattening draws markup into the page content so it cannot be moved or deleted later; leaving it unflattened keeps annotations as separate objects a reader can toggle.
Can I edit the text that is already in the PDF?
- You can add and edit text you place yourself. Rewriting existing body text set by the original producer is limited, because a PDF stores positioned glyphs rather than an editable document flow.
What happens if I reload the page?
- The working document is held in the browser, and a recent snapshot is saved locally so a crash or accidental reload can offer to restore it. Closing a document clears that snapshot.
