Any size. Handled on your device.

How it works

  1. 1Open the PDF.
  2. 2Choose a position, format and the number to start from.
  3. 3Skip a cover page if the numbering should begin later.
  4. 4Export the numbered document.

What this does to your file

Numbers are drawn as real text into the page content, so they print correctly and can be selected and searched like the rest of the document.

Common questions

Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. The page loads a PDF engine into your browser and the document is read from disk by that engine. There is no upload endpoint, and once the page has loaded you can disconnect from the network and the tool still works.

Can I start numbering at something other than 1?

Yes. Set the starting value, and choose which physical page it should land on so a cover or title page can be skipped.

Can I use a format like 'Page 3 of 20'?

Yes, the format accepts the current number and the total, along with any surrounding text you type.

Will they overlap existing numbers?

Numbers already printed on the page belong to the artwork and cannot be detected. Pick a position or margin that avoids them.
